Résumé : | There is an increasing number of caesarean sections (CSs) being performed each year in the United Kingdom (UK) and, globally, a previous CS is the largest contributing factor to increasing overall rates of CS. Repeat CSs are not cost effective and increase the risk of maternal morbidity, furthermore, they highlight the need to promote and enable successful vaginal birth after caesarean section (VBAC) for suitable women. As low-risk birth settings (LRS) encourage normality in labour, this literature review will explore the outcomes of VBAC in such settings. |
