Note de contenu : |
A rigid flatfoot deformity is characterized by dorsolateral subluxation of the navicular bone on the talus, a fixed forefoot varus, and a lateral column shortening.
Triple arthrodesis (ST, TN, CC joints) has been the historical standard procedure to correct rigid hindfoot deformities and arthritis. Sparing the CC joint has been performed with inconsistent results. Dual incision has been the traditional approach for triple arthrodesis. A single medial incision could be considered in high-risk patients. Hindfoot valgus is usually better tolerated than overcorrection into hindfoot varus. A transverse tarsal osteotomy is a powerful tool that has been employed to correct different types of residual deformities. |
