Résumé : |
- Mid- and hindfoot amputations maintain the mobility of the patient on short distances without auxiliary means.
- The self-perception (body image) of the patient remains intact, which increases the acceptance of the surgical intervention. - In mid-foot amputation no leg length discrepancy needs to be compensated, and in hindfoot amputations it depends on the type of surgery. - Not all hindfoot amputations are appropriate for diabetic patients due to polyneuropathy and peripheral arterial disease. - Getting on an adapted shoe or an ankle-foot orthosis is usually much easier for patients than getting on a prosthesis. |
