Résumé : | Reconstruction of wounds in the diabetic foot and ankle can be achieved by several different local random flap techniques. Improper flap selection, inadequate surgical debridement, presence of infection, traumatic surgical techniques, and flap closure under tension can lead to flap failure. Patients should be placed on a strict nonweight-bearing postoperative protocol with elevation of the affected extremity to prevent venous congestion. When executed correctly with careful patient selection, local random flaps for the diabetic foot and ankle can be an invaluable surgical tool. |
