Résumé : |
Bone tumors affecting the child foot are rare, and most lesions are benign, but a thorough diagnostic evaluation is crucial to rule out a malignant lesion.
Tumors affecting the foot clinically behave analogous to tumors in other skeletal sites and must be treated according to the same protocols. In benign lesions, a conservative treatment is the treatment of choice with curettage or mininvasive techniques. In malignant lesions, a wide resection must be performed, and reconstructive procedures should aim to mechanical stability and long-lasting results. In foot malignant tumors, amputation is a viable choice because it offers a quick functional recovery and often a better result than complex reconstructive attempts with a high risk of complications. |
