This graduation work deals with the contribution of the scanner to carry out two types of reconstructions SSD and VRT that will allow to virtually reconstruct vestiges dating from Ancient Egypt. Coupled with the virtual repositioning, the objects can be dissected for a better understand. These items are a cat coffin with a cat mummy, a cat statue, and a mongoose coffin with a mongoose mummy.
First, Theoretical reminders about the scanner and the different types of reconstructions are described in this chapter. The history of these three remains is also mentioned. Second, the method is written like a small guide to explain the different manipulations to perform the VRT and SSD reconstruction of each archaeological object. Third, the results are developed and discussed to present the advantages and disadvantages of using this console dedicated to 3D reconstructions of these remains. The causes of the success and failure are also discussed in this section. In conclusion, the virtual repositioning and the two types of reconstructions (VRT and SSD) provide a real added value in the development of virtualized reconstructions of archaeological objects that could be used by specialists to learn more about the know-how of ancient Egyptians, but also to educate the general public with the help of these 3D representations. |
