Résumé : |
A wide variety of conditions contribute to the development of a cavus foot deformity, many of which may stem from a neuromuscular or neurologic etiology; an appropriate evaluation must be performed.
Neurologic and neuromuscular disorders in the cavus patient may present similarly and a thorough evaluation of the patient in conjunction with a neurologist or pediatric neurologist should be performed. Progressive and spastic disorders provide a unique hurdle for the correction of a patients foot and ankle deformity. Understanding the nature of the deformity as well as the likelihood of progression or spasticity must be determined before any surgical intervention. |
