Résumé : |
Chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) of the foot most commonly involves the medial compartment followed by the superficial central compartment.
Vascular inflow abnormalities can closely mimic symptoms commonly seen with CECS of the foot. It is prudent to conduct a thorough evaluation of a patients vascular system to rule out pathology. Conservative measures are typically ineffective or aggravate a patients condition, including the use of arch taping techniques, orthotic therapy, compression therapy, or lower extremity strengthening. Advanced imaging to evaluate structures within the lower leg, ankle, and foot is typically negative. Surgical release of the medial compartment (and possibly the superficial central compartment) can reduce or eliminate a patients symptoms. |
