Résumé : |
This end-of-study work aims to understand the role of an radiographer in an angiography
department during a cardiac electrophysiology intervention with ablation. Firstly, the heart contracts thanks to electrical impulses produced within the heart. On the other hand, with some people, the electrical propagation takes place in an anarchic way. Then a pathology is diagnosed: arrhythmia. Secondly, there are several types of arrhythmias. Some of them need a cardiac electrophysiology intervention with ablation. This intervention is performed by a cardiologist and he is assisted by nurses and radiographers. Catheters are introduced to abolish the pathological area. This intervention uses very little fluoroscopy because a mapping of the different cardiac chambers is carried out in three dimensions. Finally, in some hospitals, phycisians are responsible for mapping and in others, they are medical imaging technologists. In conclusion, does a radiologist have his place in this kind of intervention? Is he able to handle the mapping system? Or should he have some training beforehand? In the following thesis, we will look at the role of a medical imaging technologist in an angiographic department during a cardiac electrophysiology intervention with ablation. |
