Résumé : |
The exposure of patients to ionizing radiation keeps increasing considering its effectiveness and availability. Given that it poses a health hazard to patients, medical imaging departments are subject to regulations which aim at ensuring their radioprotection. To help the departments to comply with regulations, firms have developed tools. In fact, this work has made a distinction between two kinds. On the one hand, a non-proactive software, which is more restricted in functionalities and on the other hand, a proactive software. However, it appears that the latter is more efficient, according to its ideal aims presented by firms. The goal of the practical part of this work was therefore to attempt to determine if the proactive software had a more positive impact in terms of complying with the legislation in a more proactive way than the non-proactive type.
To this end, two methods have been used in four hospitals. Two of them had a proactive software and the other two did not. An objective method of data analysis and a subjective method via a questionnaire evaluating technologists feelings about their software were offered. The main results have shown the capacity of the proactive software to bring more satisfaction to the legislation but without real results on the ground when it comes to radiation dose reduction. Then, through discussions, the results and difficulties have been interpreted. Indeed, it appears that the softwares are knowingly not optimally used. In conclusion, the difference between the two types of softwares has been detected, however, the effectiveness of the proactive software has not been objectively demonstrated on the field. |
