Résumé : |
Key points:
Syndesmosis injuries may be subtle and require thorough assessment of injuries. Failure to reduce and stabilize syndesmotic injuries leads to worse functional outcomes. Flexible fixation may allow earlier return to activity but does not improve reduction. Fractures of the posterior malleolus, Chaput tubercle of the tibia, and fracture of the Wagstaffe tubercle of the fibula all may represent osseous equivalents to syndesmotic injury and should be recognized and treated with stable internal fixation. Anatomic reconstruction of all components of the ankle injury results in improved clinical outcomes in both early and late presentations of syndesmotic injuries. |
