Résumé : |
Key points:
The lateral ankle comprises 3 important ligaments: anterior talofibular ligament, calcaneofibular ligament, and posterior talofibular ligament. The anterior talofibular ligament is the weakest of the lateral ligament complex. Patients should first be evaluated with a thorough history and physical, particularly with an ankle anterior drawer test and talar tilt test. Imaging can aid in the diagnosis. Conservative management should be attempted first, but surgery may be required for patients who do not improve. Anatomic repair, particularly direct repair, is the gold standard of management. |
