Résumé : |
-The fibula as a free flap provides a large segment of vascularized bone.
-The fibula free flap blood supply in large part is derived from the muscular cuff and periosteum, which is nourished by the muscular branches of the peroneal artery. -Bone defects from osteomyelitis, trauma, tumor, and congenital and acquired deformities are indications for the free fibula flap. -Critical size defects and avascular bone beds of the femur, tibia, calcaneus, and foot may be successfully treated with the fibula free flap. -External fixation after free fibula reconstruction provides patient mobilization and the ability to correct residual deformity. |
