Résumé : |
-After an injury, if the process of nerve repair is incomplete or disrupted, a disorganized growth of neural tissue (neuroma) will result and may become painful.
-Common symptomatology of neuromas include sharp, burning, or electrical-like pain, most often at night, cold intolerance, paresthesias, and numbness. -Nerve injuries were first classified by Seddon into 3 types: type I, neuropraxia; type II, axonotmesis; and type III, neurotmesis. -Identification of nerve injury type should be performed with careful clinical examination, anesthetic blocks, and neurology assessment to obtain nerve conduction velocities and electromyography. |
