Résumé : |
- Bone marrow aspirate (BMA) is an emerging cell regenerative therapy that sources stem cells and other biologic factors to induce and differentiate cells to regenerate and repair bone, tendon, nerve, and chronic wounds.
- BMA helps stimulate angiogenesis and should be considered a strategic modality to increase perfusion of flaps. - The most common site for harvest is the iliac crest; however, it is also acceptable to collect from any long bone and the calcaneus. - Harvesting BMA is simple to perform, financially modest, and associated with low morbidity, making it an ideal adjunct to traditional treatment of nonunions, chronic wounds, tendon ruptures, and other pathologic states. |
