Résumé : | High attrition rates of novice nurses partly reflect how well nursing education programs are preparing students for the physical, mental, and emotional demands of nursing practice. Resilience is a positive adaptation to stress that improves the ability of nurses to effectively navigate complex challenges, and adversity without losing personal balance and the desire to stay in the profession. Resiliency is both a process and an outcome that is modifiable through education and practice. Clinical conferences, or group debriefings, are an underdeveloped component of nursing education that provide timely opportunities to focus on building aspects of resiliency and prepare students for a sustainable transition into practice. |
