Résumé : | Complications following hallux valgus reconstruction have an expected incidence of between 10% to 55%.1 Complications include undercorrection, overcorrection, recurrence, transfer metatarsalgia, nonunion, malunion, avascular necrosis (AVN), arthritis, hardware removal, nerve injury, and ultimately patient dissatisfaction.2 A systematic literature review recently showed an overall rate of recurrent deformity of 4.9%, metatarsalgia of 6.3%, and dissatisfaction of 10.6% from 229 studies published between 1968 and 2016 including various types of open procedures.3 The rate of revision surgery in open hallux valgus correction varies from 5.5% to 8.8%.
