Résumé : |
At Samuel Merritt University (SMU), the California School of Podiatric Medicine (CSPM) collaborates with the Motion Analysis Research Center (MARC) to integrate hands-on quantitative clinical biomechanics research experience into the podiatric medical training program.
The faculty relates clinical approaches of visual and manual assessment to deeper understand the underlying mechanisms provided by interpretation of quantitative biomechanics data. CSPM students enter the MARC with clinical ideas inspired by classes, clinical experience, and study. A PhD biomechanist mentors the students to develop their clinical questions, to explore relevant scientific literature, and to formulate research questions to be explored with objective measures. Students use a wide variety of motion analysis equipment and techniques and interpret results in the context of original clinical idea and current clinical biomechanical literature. |
