Résumé : |
The goal of the treatment of pediatric cavovarus deformities is a well-balanced foot with optimal plantar pressure distribution, no progression or recurrence of the deformity, and no or postponed concomitant ankle, midfoot, and hindfoot arthritis.
The latest nonoperative measures are promising; however, if nonoperative treatment is unsatisfactory, surgical realignment has to be discussed with the patients and their parents. Recent publications demonstrate promising improvement in decision making and in operative techniques with good outcome. The current literature speaks in favor of an early and aggressive intervention to avoid progression of the deformity and concomitant consequences. |
