Maladies du système nerveux ; Syndrome du canal tarsien ; Syndromes de compression nerveuseMots-clés : Nerf tibial Résumé : Tarsal tunnel syndrome is characterized by paresthesia and pain in the plantar foot and medial ankle.
Tinel sign, or paresthesia and pain when percussion of the tibial nerve, is a good clinical test for tarsal tunnel syndrome.
It is important to identify the causation of the nerve compression, whether it be intrinsic or extrinsic to the foot.
Advanced imaging and neurologic testing can aid in diagnosis of tarsal tunnel syndrome.Disponible en ligne : Oui En ligne : https://login.ezproxy.vinci.be/login?url=https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a [...] Permalink : https://bib.vinci.be/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=269169

PiedMots-clés : Syndrome chronique du compartiment Syndrome du compartiment de l'effort Syndrome des loges à l'effort Résumé : Chronic exertional compartment syndrome (CECS) of the foot most commonly involves the medial compartment followed by the superficial central compartment.
Vascular inflow abnormalities can closely mimic symptoms commonly seen with CECS of the foot.
It is prudent to conduct a thorough evaluation of a patients vascular system to rule out pathology.
Conservative measures are typically ineffective or aggravate a patients condition, including the use of arch taping techniques, orthotic therapy, compression therapy, or lower extremity strengthening.
Advanced imaging to evaluate structures within the lower leg, ankle, and foot is typically negative.
Surgical release of the medial compartment (and possibly the superficial central compartment) can reduce or eliminate a patients symptoms.Disponible en ligne : Non Permalink : https://bib.vinci.be/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=269179

Surgical management of Achilles insertional calcific tendinosis involves detachment and reattachment of the Achilles tendon, whereas the majority of the Achilles tendon does not need detachment in a Haglunds.
Postoperative recovery varies between Achilles insertional calcific tendinosis and Haglunds deformity.Disponible en ligne : Oui En ligne : https://login.ezproxy.vinci.be/login?url=https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a [...] Permalink : https://bib.vinci.be/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=269205

Ancres de suture ; Hypersensibilité ; Matériels de fixation chirurgicaleMots-clés : Réparation du tendon d'Achille Implants non résorbables Complications de l'arrière-pied Résumé : Suture anchors can be effective devices to help strengthen surgical fixation when placing the tendon under tension. However, although rare, they also place the patient at increased risk for adverse foreign body reactions.
Although it is not a common postoperative complication, hypersensitivity reactions can lead to delayed healing, surgical revisions, infections, and amputations, as well as cosmetic and/or psychological issues for the patient.
It is important to discuss complications from posterior heel surgery with the patient as complications require prolonged immobilization, as well causing a significant financial burden, often requiring additional surgeries and time off work.
Postoperatively, aggressive postoperative physical therapy, falls, and increasing activity too rapidly will be the biggest risks for tendon re-rupture.Disponible en ligne : Oui En ligne : https://login.ezproxy.vinci.be/login?url=https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a [...] Permalink : https://bib.vinci.be/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=269206

Calcanéus ; Chirurgie orthopédique ; TumeursRésumé : Calcaneal bone tumors are an uncommon finding in the calcaneus but must be part of the providers differential diagnosis.
Clinical presentation can involve pain and swelling when symptomatic, but most benign lesions are discovered incidentally on imaging.
Imaging plays a key role in the identification of lesions with discovery typically occurring with plain film radiographs, and more advanced imaging can be helpful for diagnosis.
Treatment typically involves curettage and possible bone grafting for benign lesions and more aggressive resection or amputation for malignant lesions.Disponible en ligne : Oui En ligne : https://login.ezproxy.vinci.be/login?url=https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a [...] Permalink : https://bib.vinci.be/opac_css/index.php?lvl=notice_display&id=269478
