Résumé : | Health visitors play a vital role in the care of families with babies and young children. In the latter part of the 20th century, the roles of the health visitor and midwife were distinct and complementary, with health visitors focusing on the wider family and typically taking over the care of the mother/baby pair following their discharge from maternity care. In recent years, however, the roles of the two professions have increasingly overlapped, with health visitors now frequently involved in providing ante- and postnatal care and breastfeeding support. |
