Résumé : | Optimizing the dose to enable a decrease in the radiation dose in CT, the main methods of reducing the radiation dose, additional measures to save the radiation dose, through a retrospective analysis of CT dose across different patients over time to determine its evolution. DRLs were defined at the 50th and 75th percentiles of the dose distribution for various measurements (CTDIvol, and DLP). Compared to diagnostic reference levels, CT tends to have doses that exceed the P75 limit. The study will highlight the importance of establishing DRLs to optimize doses and reduce excessive patient radiation exposure. Finally, it recommends continuous review of the dose distribution to improve local practices. CT doses were represented by dose length products (DLP) (mGy.cm) and CTDIvol (mGy). To determine the dose reduction, it will be necessary to use any kind of management tool aimed at reducing the dose such as CARE kV, CARE DOSE4D, etc. The aim of the work is to improve dose optimization. It is important to refer to the AFCN standards for the abdomen in which DLPs value is 490 mGy.cm and CTDIvols value is 8 mGy. These values mean percentile 75 and must be respected. A table on the X.Cite scanner at Erasme was established for a study on 50 patients. I calculated the median of all my values for the CTDIvol and the DLP, the results obtained for my study compared to the DRL indicate 341.5 mGy.cm for the DLP and 8.16 mGy for the CTDIvol. My value DLP is below the dose limit which means that the scanner respects the limits and is in agreement with the AFCN. The scanner will still need to be optimized so that it meets the required standards. After comparison with the AFCN standards before kV narrowing, the scanner dose exceeded the standards. After kV clamping, the DLP and CTDI values therefore the X.Cite scanner dose complies with the standards. Optimization must continue to allow a good balance between dose and image quality. |
