Résumé : | Background and aims : Retention of staff has been highlighted as a key challenge for the midwifery profession, with evidence suggesting that many midwives are considering leaving in forthcoming years (Royal College of Midwives (RCM) 2021). Learning and development are argued to be a solution to this, and as being key to retention of staff and job satisfaction (Nguyen & Duong 2021). The Welsh Government places development and retention of staff at the forefront of their workforce strategy (Social Care Wales & Health Education Improvement Wales (HEIW) 2020), in addition to its commitment to enhance digital innovation (Welsh Government 2021). Here, we discuss a project aiming to explore the use of a learning and development digital app as an innovative approach to enhancing development and career progression at all levels in the midwifery workforce in Wales. |
