Résumé : |
This in-depth work raises the question of setting up an ongoing training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation specialized for MRI rooms on the one hand and for scanner, radiology and ultrasound rooms on the other.
The main point developed is the comparison between the classic training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and the specialized training to be implemented in the medical imaging room. To allow this, based on the already existing training procedure, procedures for the specialized training have been written. There is a procedure dedicated to the magnetic resonance room due to the downsides of the machine : the very intense magnetic field present in the room prohibiting any access with ferromagnetic material. And another procedure focused on the scanner, radiology and ultrasound rooms. These are gathered together in a single procedure because they meet the same conditions and standards. Once the training procedures were developed, the medical imagery specialized technologists and nurses took part in this training right away in the rooms of their radiology department, at the Saint-Pierre Clinic in Ottignies. Unfortunately, due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, MRI room trainings could not be implemented. However, the training in the scanner room went as planned. The 13 technologists and nurses who took part received forms to complete, allowing them to express their opinion on the already existing training and on the new specific to scanner rooms training. This form prepared beforehand made it possible to collect the participants' opinions on their satisfaction level about the traditional training and then about the contribution the specialized training brought to them. Afterwards, the results were analyzed in order to highlight the trend that was emerging. Based on the analyzed results, some improvements should be made : First of all, this training and forms should be spread to a larger sample of technologists and nurses. Moreover, given the relatively small number of cardiorespiratory arrests, it is difficult to notice/experience straight away the efficiency of these new trainings. Over a longer term, it is necessary to compare the vital prognosis of cardiopulmonary arrest victims treated by technologists and nurses who only took part in the conventional training to victims treated by technologists and nurses who took part in the specialized training. As a conclusion, it is fair to say that the technologists and nurses who participated were generally satisfied with the traditional training, but once they experienced the specialized trainings, a majority was in favor of these trainings because they thought it had real contributions to the management of cardiorespiratory arrest. The most often cited arguments are the upside of demonstrations in real conditions which is more useful and the advantage of smaller groups training allowing a better/more efficient learning. |
