Résumé : |
Failure of the spring ligament is required for deformity to progress in PCFD.
The deltoid ligament may become incompetent even in cases of flexible hindfoot deformity. The deltoid and spring ligament, while individually described, are so intimately related in form and function that incompetence in one likely causes incompetence in the other and therefore combined reconstruction techniques are becoming more popular. Progressive valgus deformity may progress to lateral ankle instability that requires correction. Staged procedures may be necessary to adequately address severe deformity safety, especially when attempting ankle arthroplasty. |
