| Résumé : | It is only appropriate for the International Journal of Audiology, to herald the first World Health Organization’s World Report on Hearing (WRH) to be released in conjunction with the World Hearing Day (3 March 2021). This is a landmark event in global hearing health that we celebrate with colleagues and especially those living with hearing loss and deafness around the globe. Not only is the report globally relevant but sets an important global agenda to bring ear and hearing care to the forefront of policy makers, public health officials and governments. This international effort led by the World Health Organization, has comprised of global colleagues, leaders, and researchers, who have spent the past 12 to 18 months compiling this influential document. Its primary purpose, to see ear and hearing care take its rightful place on global health agendas, will support global efforts to prevent hearing loss and promote equitable access to hearing care globally. |
