The data of study were collected using a questionnaire and a Visual Analogue Scale. Lavender oil inhalation containing a 1:10 ratio of lavender and sweet almond oil was prepared. Results The pain mean score of the intervention group was 3.8 ± 0.3 prior to the application of lavender oil inhalation and decreased to 3.0 ± 0.2 following the inhalation application; whereas, the pain mean score of the control group increased from 5.4 ± 0.3 to 5.6 ± 0.6. Conclusion It was observed that applying lavender oil inhalation to patients undergoing haemodialysis did decrease pain level experienced by patients during vascular access and caused no negative effects. |
