Résumé : |
Temperature is not a consistently reliable diagnostic or prognostic indicator in neutropenic patients with infection.
Monitoring of temperature at home by patients is important but over reliance on temperature may prevent early detection. A trigger temperature of 37.5 °c may support early presentation in an increased number of patients with neutropenic infection. Broad-based inclusive criteria regarding symptoms and temperature may promote early appropriate treatment in neutropenia. |
